1.Define principles of design?
2.What do the principles of design affect?
3.What is the difference between the principles of design and C.R.A.P.? How can contrast help a design?
4.What is wrong with having too much or too little contrast in a design?
5.What is the key to working with contrast?
6.What are some common ways of creating contrast?

7.What is the principle of repetition?

8.Describe ways that the principle of repetition helps the composition?
9.What are ways that you can incorporate repetition into your designs?
10.What should you avoid when working with repetition?
11.What is the principle of alignment?
12.What is the principle of proximity?
13.What is the principle of proportion?

14.Define symmetrical balance?
15.What is another name for asymmetrical balance?
16.Define asymmetrical balance?
17.What is a focal point and how is it created?
18.How many components of a composition can be a focal point?
19.What ways can emphasis be created in a design?

20.What is the principle of harmony and how is it different from unity?
21.What is the principle of unity?
What three ways can unity be obtained?
22.What is the principle of variety?
23.What three ways can a designer add variety to a design?

1.The principles of design suggest how a designer can best arrange the various elements of a page layout in connection to the overall design and to each other.
2.The principles are: Balance, Proportion, Rhythm, Emphasis, and Unity.
3.CRAP is: Contrast, repetition, Alignment, Proximity
4.Contrast helps a design because if one color is dark the other is light, it will attract people.
5.If the contrast is too low it will be hard for people to concentrate on the design it might also strain their eye. If the contrast is too high it will also make it hard for the people to concentrate.
6.Create a focal point.
7.The principle of repetition means the reusing of the same elements throughout your design.
8.It can help you to make people focus on one object or area in a design.
9.You can make the same designs over and over and make one design unique.
10.Don't make everything the same, change the color one part and keep the others the same.
11.The principles of alignment means the way different objects within a composition are spaced to each other.
12.The principle of proximity means closeness or distance of individual design elements. Close proximity indicates a connection.
13.The principle of proportion means the relative visual size and weight of particular graphical elements in a design composition.
14.Symmetrical balance means the near or exact matching of left and right sides of a three-dimensional form or a two-dimensional composition.
15.Informal balance
16.In asymmetrical balance, the two sides are not identical, but differ from one another
17.A focal point is an area that attracts peoples attention it can created by colors or shape of a design.
18.3
19.Emphasis can be created in a design by contrast, placement, and size.
20.The principle of harmony is using compatible colors and shapes in their designs.
21.The principle of unity is the fundamental principle of design and it is supported by all the other principles.
22.Variety means to change the character of an element, to make it different.
23.You can add variety to a design is by using color, shape, or the the size.

1.

This logo, or design is simple because it only takes a few shapes to make, its memorable because it's so simple, it's timeless because it's simple to design and make, and it's appropriate.

Why/how can logos be used to communicate?

It represents their company and what they are selling.

What is the difference between copyright and public domain?

Copyright is given to anyone that ask for it, but public domain is allowed for all people.

How can you avoid plagiarism in this class?  In other classes?

Plagiarism can be avoided by changing the work of others.

This is my favorite logo because it's simple, colorful, and memorable.

This is my favorite logo because it's simple and you can recognize it.

What is OSHA? What do the letters stand for?
Occupational Safety and Health Administration.

How can graphic designers effectively communicate? In your own words, explain the communication process.
The signs has to be seen clearly and legible and be able to captures a persons eye, Sign needs to be universal. The signal words needs to be shown in different colors ex. red for danger.

Understanding the history, culture and movements of fine and graphic arts will make you a better producer of visual messages. Why?
They help you be more informative, and it helps you learn from your mistakes, and know what to do, and what not to do.

What does it take to create good graphic design? Understand the elements of graphics designs

What is the difference between elements and principles? Elements are what you choose to deign and principle are what you have to follow

Name the six (6) elements of design. Line, value, color, shape&form, texture, space

What can lines aid in, when alone or combined with other lines or shapes? Lines can help you design

Which lines suggest a feeling of rest? Why do you think? Vertical lines

Vertical lines communicate a feeling of what? Why do you think? Loftiness

What lines suggest a feeling of movement? Why do you think?

Soft, shallow curved lines suggest what? Why do you think? Comfort, safety, relaxation

These lines suggest confusion and turbulence? Why do you think? Curved lines

What element defines a specific area of space? What is the difference between two dimensional
shapes and three dimensional shapes? Circle, Square, Sphere, Cubes, add depth for 3D, and 2D is flat and doesn't add depth.

Describe the difference between geometric shapes and organic shapes? Geometric shapes are structure, organic shapes are natural, irregular

What are abstract shapes? Abstract shapes are simple, stylize, not realistic

Which basic shape projects an attitude of honesty or equality? Square, equal on all size

What do triangles suggest? Action

Circles convey feelings of what? Projection

Describe positive space and negative space? What is texture? Incorporating texture into a design can help do what? What is value? Anything add to design is positive space. Negative space are the empty space. Actual texture the feeling of material, apply texture are illusion. Value is the degree of light and dark of a design,

What is another name for value? What can the element of color do when incorporated into a  design? Tone. Create mood.
